Use this page for support and feedback while Fishing Quest is in early testing.

What Fishing Quest is

Fishing Quest is an early fishing logbook prototype with XP, quests, species collection, personal-best tracking, and local data backup/restore.

The goal is to make every fishing trip feel like progress, including quiet/no-catch sessions.

Current limitations

  • Local-only storage; no account or cloud sync yet.
  • No GPS, photo upload, weather, social feed, or maps yet.
  • Species catalog and quests are intentionally small in the first version.
  • Backup restore currently uses pasted JSON text.
  • Early versions may still have rough edges on some devices.

    • Before reporting a bug

    If possible, include:

  • device model
  • Android/iOS version
  • app version/build number
  • what you were trying to do
  • what happened instead
  • whether you can reproduce it
  • screenshot or screen recording if safe to share

    • Do not include private location details or notes unless they are needed to explain the issue.

    Severity guide

  • P0: cannot launch, data loss, security/privacy issue
  • P1: core logging journey broken
  • P2: frequent confusion or major annoyance
  • P3: polish/nice-to-have

    • Common tester tasks

    1. Start from a clean app.

    2. Log a quiet/no-catch trip.

    3. Log a trip with a catch.

    4. Check XP, quests, collection, stats, and personal bests.

    5. Close and reopen the app to confirm progress persists.

    6. Try exporting a local backup.

    7. Optional: restore from a backup.
